Broker/Owner of Roma Real Estate — a licensed builder, a Greek-speaking Charlottean, and 1,515 closings deep.
The name Roma honors Stergios Katsaros, who left Beletsi, in the Greek region of Thessalia, and reached Ellis Island in May 1907 at just seventeen years old. The ship that carried him was named The Roma. Generations later, the family name marks both the homes his descendants build across Charlotte and the brokerage that represents them.
Steve Katsaros opened Roma Real Estate Inc. in 2022 as a sister company to his son Bill's custom-home business, Roma Homes. Bill calls him his “Consigliere” — the broker who represents his listings and offers counsel when it's needed. Steve also helps friends and family across the Charlotte area buy and sell their homes.
A Wayne State graduate and Division-I scholarship pitcher, and a lifelong entrepreneur — supermarkets, a deli, a corner store — he has spent a lifetime learning the true value of a well-built, well-bought home. Faith and community have long been part of the story too: for nearly two decades Steve served as Youth Athletic Director at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
And for Charlotte's Greek families, a broker who speaks their language — fluently.
